about

YEAR 2.12

I've always really liked the super-silly song, "Mule Skinner Blues". I heard it on one of those "Kooky Kountry" or "Goofy Greats" Albums as a kid, but recently saw it on a friend's album by the Fendermen. One day I came across a newer, guitarish version and the original by the Fendermen (digital of course). Also always liked the show (and theme) The Rockford Files. So, I got two versions of it (original and modern "country") and played around with all 4. Lots of little surprises here and there to untangle. A fun one.

Made in Year 2, in 1 pass, on the Numark NS6

The screen shot is a sound grab from Sunset Room in Victoria, BC, using an ipod app. I recommend playing these tracks quite loud and downloading the better quality files. Music is fragile; handle with care. ... more
